Some days ago I went to the hair store and bought the products to attempt the DIY Ombre or something like that. I only bought the bleach and the developer because I wanted to see the results before deciding on a toner.
I chose my favourite youtube tutorial to inspire me, not to follow, I'm aware of my limitations when it comes to following instructions.
It was a mess and I wasn't expecting the foil to slide down my hair and heat as a stove, but other than that it went fine. I just had to keep asking Granny to re-wrap the pieces where the foil had fallen.
After 45 minutes of cooking and eating dinner (my cooking skills are another story by the way) I went to wash my hair. At the hair store the lady gave me samples of shampoo and mask so I used those. Regarding the mask, I always concentrate more in my damaged ends than the length of my hair. I usually leave my hair do it's own thing but because of the big change I decided to straighten it to have a better look at the results. During this process I did't notice a lot more damage, the only thing that bothered me were, of course, all the yellow parts. But, because it wasn't disgusting, I decided to wait for a few days before buying a toner.

Before the toner |
Later in the day I received a phone-call to go to an interview for a person-to-person sales job the next day. Ups, I went with yellow hair and blonde tips. Despite that the interview went so well that immediately after I went to the hair store to buy the toner because I was expecting the "yes or no" call by Friday and it was Wednesday. I have to be honest and say I was very afraid I would't get the job because of the warm tones in my hair.
After toning it I think it is a lot better and, even though I don't like the warm tones that didn't go away, I am happy with the final results. I don't mind using a darker color to tone it in a few weeks but for now this is what I have. Plus I'll be using a purple shampoo twice a week to see if I can control the orange tones.
